Do you ever have a day when you are just so EXCITED about life? I'm having one today. It's just a GREAT DAY to be alive. Maybe it's because I went to bed early last night and woke up well-rested. Or maybe because I just got in a good workout at the gym. Or perhaps because -- shouting out loud here -- our LOAN GOT APPROVED YESTERDAY! Or perhaps it was the beautiful bed-head of messed-up hair Allison woke up with this morning. Or the sweet tight hugs Sarah & Allison both gave me. Or maybe because I've finished my first "Grubbies" CD and I'm hoping to get it uploaded today.

In any case, I'm so glad to be alive, and I'm so grateful for the blessings God has given me. Now, I'm off to get some housework done and make my house sparkling clean!

New Line

My other new line is going to be a brand-new CD of Background Papers called "Grubbies". It's been so fun to work on. Backgrounds have always been my favorites, and the challenge of creating so many sets at once has been fun. I plan on doing this in two CDs, each having about 60 backgrounds on it in 6 different coordinating sets. I've finished 3 sets so far, and I can't wait to finish. Eventually, I might do some coordinating elements sets, but for now, I'm just having a blast.

Weathered Threads

I've been doing a ton of designing and trying out some new styles. I've always liked the grungy, weathered look, and I've decided to try it out. I'm coming out with a new line -- "Weathered Threads" will be a distressed, worn version of some of my best kits. My first set in this is called "Weathered Threads -- Footed Pajamas" and is a grunged version of my new Footed Pajamas kit. When I get time, I'm going to go through and add to this line. You can see both versions of the kit above.

We did it!

It was 9:30 before we were done, but everything is now into the lender to get us approved for our one-time-close loan. If all goes well, we will get funding before our deadline and we will probably break ground in 4 weeks!

I've been scrapbooking -- trying to get caught up, yet again. I guess if I didn't have so much to say, it could go faster. I find that I'm not really that picky about my layouts, I don't apply a ton of filters or fancy effects and I cram them too full of photos to really "WOW" people, but my kids love looking at them, fancy or not. The first layout above is one I did for the wall in 8 x 10 size -- I fell in love of this photo of Allison trying to ride Lillian's bike and used one of my favorite Bible verses for it. The "First Encounters" layout below uses Andrea Nelson's Child's Play CD and I like the simplicity and the focus on the photo on the left side. Even after a year and a half, I still have moments when I just marvel that *I* was blessed with TWO sweet little girls at the same time. This photo turned out just perfect, capturing their first meeting with their Grandpa Bartholomew (they've been serving a mission for our Church)

I love the little moments I have that remind me of how blessed I am. Today, we took the family shopping, and Allison & Sarah were getting pretty restless at the end, so we let them walk around with me. I made them hold my hands (Allison was happy to do so, Sarah was a little annoyed) and as I walked around holding their tiny fingers in my hands, I felt so blessed. They are such sweet additions to our home.

Merry Christmas!

Well, it's a few weeks late, but I thought I'd show off our family Christmas card for the year -- aren't we a cute family?
