A new favorite site (Favorites Friday)

Have you seen the new Mormon.org? I'm loving it (and not just because I've got my own profile up now). If you've ever wondered more about my faith or those of other Mormons you know, here's your chance to get to know us a bit better. There are tons of profiles up of members from many walks of life and many areas of the world.

I loved this one, of a mom of four in Texas who has two handicapped sons. Her video made me smile, especially hearing about her story about adopting her second son. And I loved watching Jane Clayson Johson's interview. She used to be the news anchor on the Early Show and I love how they show her life now and the joy and challenges she finds as a mother. (She also wrote a great book called I am a Mother that is a tribute to the important career of motherhood). I'm sure if you wander the site you'll find some interesting people and stories too (like me! Did I mention my profile is up?)

There's also many frequently asked questions about our faith answered by various members. I had a lot of fun choosing some of the questions to answer. It was interesting to see that others answered them with their own personalities and humor mixed in.

Are we Christian ? Do we worship Joseph Smith ? What is the Book of Mormon? Do we believe in the Bible? Why do Mormons go on missions? What do we believe about life after death? What is the purpose of life? What do we believe about God? Why do Mormons care so much about families? See even more FAQs -- probably some you've had in the past -- here.

So come on over -- we're not so scary!

And if you want to learn more about me and my faith, my own profile is up! Or did I say that already?
