Fall Pictures (Wordless Wednesday)

Last week, we had our talented photographer friend come to take pictures of the kids for a Christmas card photo. Harmony screamed most of the time and except for one picture, another of my children scowled the whole time. But despite the grumpy kids, we still got a few keepers!

With Sarah -- notice the nice gap in her teeth. She's so proud that she can stick her tongue through it!

Despite what it looks like, the cat actually DOES like us.

I was hoping for at least one fabulous, posed picture where everyone was well behaved and looked nice. But I guess I'll settle for this one -- wouldn't you rather see a representation of our real lives anyway?

Very cute pictures. I love the red. And you look great!! Where is your hubby though? You got the cat but not the husband? :-)

DH had to work that day, and I didn’t know my friend was available until an hour before the pictures, so we decided to do just the kids rather than the whole family this year.

Oh, and these were taken in the backyard, which explains why the cat was hanging around. =)

I LOVE the one you got of all your children! It is a perfect Christmas card photo.
Our most 'famous' Christmas card was created one year when Warren and I were exasperated from trying to get a good photo of our boys (age 6,3, and 1 yo twins). The twins were EVERYWHERE! We ended up creating a collage of all the crazy pictures - babies crying, kids upside down, brothers poking each other, toddler pouting, etc... Then we put 'Peace on Earth' on the front with the photos and 'but not when trying to take the perfect Christmas card photo' on the inside. They turned out awesome and people still comment about that card. I think our friends and family like to get a glimpse into our real lives. A nice, perfect, posed photo is nice some years, but sometimes something a little more natural is just wonderful!
